Receipt Binder / A studio product
For receipts
that don’t last.
Paper fades. The record shouldn’t. Receipt Binder started with a student’s tuition receipts and grew into an Android app for capturing, organizing, and finding receipts.

01 / The starting point
A problem on
the walk home.
One of our team members had to pay tuition in person after online payments repeatedly failed. The paper receipts from those visits faded quickly, making a frustrating process harder to keep track of.
On the walk home from school, a conversation with a friend turned the complaint into an idea: an app to save those receipts. Work began that night.

Capture it.
Give it a place.
A saved photo is a start. Being able to find the right receipt later is what makes it useful. The app brings receipt capture and named folders into the same workflow.
The store listing shows that flow: scan a receipt, choose or create a folder, and keep the record with related receipts. Folder colors make the collection easier to distinguish at a glance.
Make it easy to find
Create a named, colored folder and add a receipt.
Keep it together
Choose a folder after scanning a receipt.
03 / Getting it into people’s hands
Testing, feedback,
and a public release.
In February 2025, the team introduced Receipt Binder at SCIT’s annual Program Day. Closed testing informed bug fixes and refinements before the Play Store release.
The app launched on Google Play on March 12, 2025. The later “Super Tiny Mini Update” added folder editing and polished user flows. The October journal describes how a small-sounding update took much of the summer.
In-app feedback and a community channel gave users ways to help shape what came next.
From the early tests04 / Where it is now
A product we
continue to work on.
Receipt Binder is available on Google Play for Android 7.0 and later. Its latest listed version is 1.0.3, updated July 17, 2026.
It has grown beyond the tuition receipt that started it: a place for the records people keep for personal expenses, reimbursements, and small-business administration.
